Real Stories, Real Impact
Ryan and Noah have been matched since 2020. Over the years they have formed a very close bond. Noah is being raised by his grandma along with his two other siblings who are also involved with our agency. When Noah joined our program, he was having a hard time at home, at school and his confidence and self esteem was at an all time low. Ryan started spending time with him and he took an interest in his school life, helped him get involved in a sport and in time Noah made friends and improved at school and at home. He now is in High School and he is thriving and Grandma is so proud of the man he is becoming and believes Ryan’s involvement and guidance has made all the difference in the world.
Sophia and Ava have been matched since July of 2024, and Ava came to our agency through her counselor. She was struggling with some mental health issues, she was being bullied in school, and her family was living in a small trailer. Ava did not have any friends and she wasn’t making good choices regarding school and taking her medication the way she should. Once her and Sophia were matched, Ava found a friendship she valued and looks at her as family now. Sophia has included Ava into her family and has had her over for family events. Sophia has helped Ava with school guidance on which medication and counselor appointments she needs to focus on, and she has helped Ava’s family establish a place to live. Sophia has helped Ava with decorating her room and she took her shopping for Homecoming which are all things she would have never done with out Sophia’s friendship and love. Ava comes to mind because the changes I see in her from 2024 to now are remarkable. She is a more mature, responsible, social person who wants to have friends and be part of her community.
Jenny’s grandma said it was worth the wait for Jenny because her match is perfect with Mike and Mary.
